The (al)most out-of-this-world thing I’ve ever done!

It’s 3:45am, and my friend Dan and I are flying forty thousand feet above the north pole. We are approximately two hours into this flight with 15 more to go. We have been quietly planning this trip for months without much fanfare or bells and whistles because this is by far the biggest thing I’ve ever done.

In the weeks and months leading up to this, that scrawny and scared twelve-year-old boy afraid of his first ride on horseback came out again. This is when I knew that I was once again about to embark on something big – bigger than myself.

I had this same feeling ten years ago, when I was packing my bags for a month to go to Nashville for the first time as a songwriter and artist to cut the first batch of songs that eventually turned into the album that we were blessed to put out. We have a new single, video, and tour package sitting on the shelf, ready to go.

The new single is a deeply personal one that I’m sharing in hopes of helping many people across the board, young and old alike overcome a set of struggles that we’re often to ashamed of to talk about with even our most trusted friends.

This trip that I am taking is more of a research project in order to make the deepest impact I could. I was blessed to have been invited to an awards luncheon in Nashville by the CMA to celebrate the accomplishments many of the artists and writers that inspire me, but I had to prepare like an astronaut to fly nonstop to the other end of the earth for about a month I am already eager for my return and get this new single out!

But I must be honest, I may need you guys to be cheerleaders or to hold my hand a bit because the production folks poured their hearts and souls into this one and I haven’t been able to let this baby out into the world yet, but I owe it to them and you to do so.

I know that many of you have carried me this far from day one, and I pray that we can continue this partnership and make a positive impact in people’s lives together 🙂

I suppose that if I can fly across the earth to live in the Philippines for a month, I certainly can buckle up and get this single out! ♥
